public interface TimerManager

This interface decouples UCP and JAVA API/CommonJ timer implementations. IMPORTANT: The Timer Manager allows to run many timer tasks simultaneously, so a next 'schedule()' or 'scheduleAtFixedRate()' does not cancel previous one.

Starts timer manager and prepares it to work.

isRunning

boolean isRunning()

Checks if manager is running.

Returns:

true if running.

schedule

TimerHandle schedule(TimerTask task,
                     long delay,
                     long interval)

Submits one timer task to execute periodically.

Parameters:

task - task to execute.

delay - delay to start task in milliseconds.

interval - task invocation interval in milliseconds.

scheduleAtFixedRate

TimerHandle scheduleAtFixedRate(TimerTask task,
                                long delay,
                                long interval)

Submits one timer task to execute periodically at fixed rate.

Parameters:

task - task to execute.

delay - delay to start task in milliseconds.

interval - task invocation interval in milliseconds.

stop

void stop()

Shuts timer manager down and cleans everything up.
